DC Direct continues its line of 1:6 scale action figures with this Batman Beyond figure. Personally, for $100 I think the head sculpt on this one looks awful. The rest of the figure is nice, but that’s one ugly-looking mask.

DC Direct Zatanna 1:6 Scale Action Figure
Like all the other DC Direct 1:6 scale female figure, the hair on this Zatanna figure is molded plastic which is a major annoyance. But if you can get past that, this isn’t a half-bad figure. And since nobody seems to collect Zatanna, this figure which has an MSRP of $99.99 and was released in November 2009 can already be found for about $60 online.
DC Direct’s 1/6th Scale Catwoman
This DC Direct 1/6th scale Catwoman action figure suffers the same problem the other female figures in this series have — the plastic hair. Still a stupid decision, DC.
That said, otherwise this is an awesome looking figure. My action figure collection is currently in storage, but when I finally do bust it out and set it up again, I might have to catch up on these 1/6th scale figures starting with this one.
Blackest Night Earth-2 Superman
Damn it is hard to find images of this Blackest Night Earth-2 Superman online. DC Direct initially embargoed the look of the character so most of what’s on the Internet (and still at DC Direct’s own site) is a silhouette version. This is a fairly grotuesque take on Superman even at this tiny resolution.
Superhero Times Review of DC Direct 1:6th Scale Supergirl
Superhero Times gives a thumbs up review to DC Direct’s 1:6th scale Supergirl. Personally, I think the arms on the figure look more than a bit absurd (and this is a figure that’s roughly $90 at retail).
However, I am still tempted to pick this up everytime I pass it by at the local comic book store because of its accessories including . . . wait for it . . . Streaky the Super Cat,
Legion of Super-Pets anyone?
JLA Trophy Room Green Lantern Rings Prop
Normally I pass on these DC Direct prop replicas because, despite how cool they are, the prices just don’t justify it for me. This JLA Trophy Room: Green Lantern Rings Prop Replica will definitely be an exception.
According to the description at DC Direct,
An age-old prophecy foretold the coming of the Blackest Night, and the war of light between the emotional spectrum! The Green Lantern and (yellow) Sinestro Corps are confronted by the Red Lanterns, Agent Orange, the Blue Lanterns, the mysterious Indigo Lanterns, the (violet) Star Sapphires and, ultimately, the Black Lantern Corps.
Now, for the first time ever, all of these Power Rings are collected together in one spectacular display!
Eight plated metal rings (each a different color, signifying the insignia of the various Corps) fit into a battery-operated, light-up resin display base. The rings are protected by a removable glass dome that sits on top of the base.
$250 . . . or the low, low price of just $31.25 per ring!
