Boss Fight Studio is making a line of 6″ Legends of Lucha Libre action figures.
One of the reasons I blog about toys a lot is that although I have a large collection, there are way too many cool toys than I could ever afford to buy much less have the space to store and display. Once in a while, though, I make an exception and as soon as I saw them I snapped up all seven of these Funko Pop! vinyl figures which reimagine Marvel characters as masked Lucha Libre wrestlers.
I just hope these are popular enough for Funko to continue the line and maybe give fans a wrestling ring for these.
DC Collectibles recently sent notices to its direct market customers that it was canceling the previously announced Lucha Explosiva action figure line that mixed DC characters with lucha libre stylings. CBR.com reported it received the following statement from DC on the line’s cancellation.
While the DC ¡Lucha Explosiva! line launched with excitement, we are reevaluating new and exciting ways we can bring the reimaged DC characters to even more fans
It sounds like there was little interest on the direct market for the figure line, leading to its cancellation. That’s too bad; I was really looking forward to those figures.
