Battlestar Galactica vs. Battlestar Galactica Action Figure Variant Covers
Nothing makes me nerd out more than action figure variant covers of comics. These variant covers from Dynamite Entertainment’s Battlestar Galactica vs. Battlestar Galactica series are no exception.
The comic features the characters from the 1978 series being brought together with the characters from the 2004 series, including a Commander Cain encounter. So the action figure variant covers feature imagined two-packs of the original vs. the newer series versions of prominent characters from the series.

What the hell is with Muffit standing up like he’s a biped in this shot? Anyway, the “tin tote” is a nice replica of the lunch box I totally rocked in the 6th grade.
Old School Baltar Action Figure
I’m not feeling the Lt. Boomer figure at all — the head sculpt is atrocious — but I’m digging the old school Baltar cape. This is supposed to be out in May 2014, so hopefully Bif! Bang! Pow! can fix the Lt. Boomer figure by then.
Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment Die-Cast Vehicles … Battlestar Galactica?
Hot Wheels has a series of Retro Entertainment die-cast cars out, including vehicles like the A-Team van, Magnum P.I.’s Ferrari, and the Knight Rider K.A.R.R. I picked up this nice Ecto-1.
However, there is one oddity here. The press materials on this says that the line will include classic vehicles driven in TV shows and movies, including classic Battlestar Galactica. Now maybe they’re going to do a classic Viper, but I’m hoping they go a different route.
(What the world really needs is fanfic depicting what happened when Captain Troy and Lieutenant Dillon tangled with the Sons of Anarchy.)
