All Hail Henry Bemis

There are a lot of good Twilight Zone episodes, but as far as I’m concerned the hands down best episode of all time is the classic “Time Enough At Last,” based on Lynn Venable’s story of the same name. I’ve watched this episode 4 or 5 times a year since ever since I can remember…have to do it alone now, because my wife is way past sick of it.

If you think about it, Henry Bemis is totally gangsta. Here’s a dude so cold that after everybody in the world is wiped out in an instant, presumably by a nuclear war, Beemis’ reaction is that finally he has enough time to read! I’m pretty misanthropic and even I find that stone cold.

The only thing wrong with the television episode and the short story is the ending where Henry gets his comeuppance. Totally revisionist. Someday I’m going to polish off my fanfic wherein the true story of what happens to Henry after he discovers the library is told.

Anyway, Bif Bang Pow is finally doing Henry justice by producing a Mego-style action figure of him as part of their Twilight Zone line. Very nice.

Bobblehead Mystic Seer from Classic “Nick of Time” Twilight Zone Episode

Bif Bang Pow! will be producing this bobblehead version of the Mystic Seer from the classic Twilight Zone episode “Nick of Time”, where William Shatner’s character becomes obsessed with the “predictions” made by the fortune telling machine. Oddly enough, the Mystic Seer is one of the few TZ props that wasn’t thrown out by CBS after the end of the show’s run, so the real thing is out there somewhere in some collector’s home.

Now, if I can just get a Magic Conch replica, I’ll never have to think for myself again!
