Who You Gonna Call? Master Replicas

Master Replicas recently announced that it obtained a license to create Ghostbusters-based replicas.

Master Replicas is pleased to announce its forthcoming line of prop replicas based on Columbia Pictures’ hugely popular film franchise, Ghostbusters.

“We are extremely excited to be able to enter the Ghostbusters paranormal world”, explains CEO Michael Cookson “If you’ve always dreamed owning an officially licensed “unlicensed nuclear accelerator” or are just looking for innovative collectibles that will remind you of the legendary antics of Ray, Egon, Peter and Winston, the Master Replicas range will offer a wealth of choices.”

Working closely with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, Master Replicas will work its magic to ensure authenticity and accuracy. Master Replicas initial Ghostbusters product range will include authentic limited edition prop replicas as well as a few “surprises” just in time for the 25th anniversary of this pop-culture property.

First up for the line are a limited edition 1:1 replica of the proton pack and ghost trap from the films.

Advanced-Light Weaponry

Advanced-Light Weaponry produces custom science fiction props, especially lightsabers. Nice, but expensive ($200-$1,000) since these are made by and partly intended for filmmakers and extreme fanboy cosplayers.

Diamond Select Tribble

In February 2009, Diamond Select will release a Tribble replica that has both a soothing cooing mode and an angry Klingon bashing mode.

Smallville Replica – Kara’s Kryptonite Bracelet

It’s amazing how much replica stuff there is out there for Smallville, and most of it is fairly reasonably priced. Like this replica of Kara’s Kryptonian Bracelet, for example, which will be out later this year and can be had for $35-$40.

DC Direct Green Lantern Power Battery Prop

In brighest day, in darkest night . . . well, you get the idea. DC Direct has released a couple Green Lantern Power Battery replicas in the past, but this puppy is the first one they’ve done in metal. This one will, sadly, retail for $395, which means I’m probably never going to own one. Oh well.

I can console myself with the pictures of my kids and I at the zoo with our (plastic) power rings and me in my Green Lantern shirt. A one family Green Lantern Corps.
