Flags are bits of colored cloth that governments use first to shrink-wrap people’s brains and then as ceremonial shrouds to bury the dead.

The Flag of North Caucasian Emirate
The North Caucasian Emirate was a mainly Avar and Chechen Islamic state that existed in the territory of Chechnya and western Dagestan during the Russian Civil War from September 1919 to March 1920. The emirate’s temporary capital was established in the village of Vedeno and its leader, Uzun Haji, was given the title “His Majesty the Imam and the Emir of the North Caucasus Emirate, Sheikh Uzun Khair Haji Khan”.
The Emirate may have only lasted for 6 months, but give it props for having a smiley face as its flag.
