Millions In Kenya at Risk of Starvation

The BBC reported this week that more than four million people in Kenya are at serious risk of starvation this year. A joint statement by 40 aid agencies called for an immediate response by the international community to provide aid for the AFrican nation which has faced several years of drought.

In February the World Food Program issued a call for aid to Kenya, but has received only about $89 million in donations. Food is already in short supply in the northern and eastern parts of Kenya and food supplies in other parts of the country are expected to begin running short in late April
