Brian’s Super Bowl Predictions

Speaking of football, I know everybody’s dying to hear my prediction for the Super Bowl. I’m picking the Baltimore Ravens in a landslide. Here’s why:

1. The Ravens are going to shut down New York’s offense. I keep reading articles written by people who take seriously the Giants putting up 41 points or whatever it was on the Minnesota Vikings. Give me a break. The Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns probably could have lit up that pathetic Vikings defense for 41 points. I watched every play in that game and the Vikings defense didn’t even look like it cared if it won or lost. They practically came out playing a prevent defense in the middle of the second quarter.

The only thing the Minnesota game proved was that the Vikings, and not the St. Louis Rams, had the worst defense of any team to make the playoffs.

2. The Ravens shut down a much better offense than the Giants have when they completely dismantled the Oakland Raiders. Kerry Collins is no Rich Gannon, but after Sunday he’s going to be feeling Gannon’s pain.

3. Final score: Ravens 17, Giants 10

Oh, my other prediction — the half time show performance by Backstreet Boys is not going to be worth watching. Switch to ESPN at halftime.
