Category Resizer is a Greasemonkey script that actually makes the WordPress Categories list usable when writing a post. Rather than the single column list hidden behind scroll bars, Category Resizer lists all categories in a multi-column list under the post. Very nice when you have a lot of categories.

Karl Schroeder’s Ventus Online with CC License
Science fiction novelist Karl Schroeder has posted the complete text of his novel Ventus online under a Creative Commons license. Its been awhile since I’ve read it, but it was very thought provoking and enjoyable.
If you read and like that, I can’t say enough good things about his 2005 novel, Lady of Mazes. The book posits a far future human civilization where technology allows individuals to severely mediate their ongoing experiences. Along the way the book raises, and tries to answer, a good deal of existential questions raised by our use of technology. Simply an amazing novel.
