Reddit has a mega-popular thread going right now asking the question What was your best purchase this year?
For me, this was finally the year I bought a pair of computer glasses.
I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 7, and as I’ve gotten older, my vision has gotten to the point where my glasses require progressive lenses.
Progressive lenses work great for me except for when I’m using the computer, and for me, that’s 12-14 hours per day on most days.
So when I complained to my optometrist about the lack of clarity when using my computer, she recommended computer glasses.
Essentially mine are just glasses that are optimized for the typical distance from which I use my computer. If I get up from my computer I have to swap my progressive lens glasses back on.
After using them for the last six months, I’ve noticed a significant reduction in eye and neck strain, and everything appears sharper and more in focus while I’m grinding out my workday in my home office.
This was one of those “I wish I’d done this years ago” purchases.
