Remove.BG is a website that will take uploaded images and then automatically remove the background from them.
The site worked fairly well with a wide variety of images I threw at it. The catch is that with the free version you can only download a relatively low-res version of the image with the background removed. Downloading higher-res versions will cost you on a sliding scale based on how many images you plan to throw at the site.
