PETA Activist Arrested in Birmingham, England

First a “scuffle” broke out on May 11 between police and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ activists who tried to bring their “Holocaust On Your Plate” campaign to London’s Trafalgar Square. Then, on May 13 PETA’s Andrew Butler was arrested as the group tried to set up its Holocaust display in the Birmingham center.

In both cases, local officials had denied requests by PETA for permission to display the “Holocaust On Your Plate” materials due to the graphic nature of the images.

Police have said they do not plan to prosecute Butler.
