So WordPress 2.6 is now available. They’ve added the ability to turn off XML-RPC without having to use a plugin, created a post versioning system, and better support for using the admin system over SSL (including adding Google Gears to speed up the admin area).

The software has been upgraded to include the ability to turn off XML-RPC without having to use a plugin, created a post versioning system, and provided <a href="http:// boren.nu/archives/2008/07/ 14/ssl-and-cookies- in-wordpress-26/">better support</a> for accessing admin functions over SSL (including adding Google Gears to speed up the admin area).
