Occasionally I run across this panel on Reddit, laugh, and wonder what the context here was. Was Kool-Aid Man in a comic book? Is this some sort of weird product placement? And exactly how would Kool-Aid Man / human romance . . . uh . . . work?
It turns out that Kool-Aid Man has been featured in at least two comic series, albeit both were short lived.
In the mid-1970s, General Foods produced its own two-issue Kool-Aid Comics. This was an item that could be redeemed by returning 5 Kool-Aid envelopes or a single 10-quart can (that must have been fun to ship).
Then in the early 1980s, Archie Comics began publishing The Adventures of Kool-Aid Man comic book series that lasted for seven very irregularly published issues.
With dozens of Kool-Aid flavors released worldwide since 1927, Kool-Aid Man is overdue for his return to comic books and hopefully an Extended Kool-Aid Man Universe (Crisis on Infinite Flavors, anyone?)
