Everything from voidtools is a Windows utility that allows quick indexing and searching for files on Windows.
There are many tools like this for Windows, but what interested me in Everything is a function it has to generate lists of files of non-attached storage devices and export those lists to CSV files.
Everything File List (EFU) are recommended for off-line files or files that do not change, for example a CDRom, DVDRom or read only NAS.
An EFU file is a Comma-separated Values (CSV) file containing a list of filenames, sizes, dates and attributes.
File lists can be opened with Everything or included in your Everything index.
File lists can be searched and sorted by size, date or attributes instantly.
The one thing Everything’s EFU files don’t do that I need is also to generate an MD5 or SHA1 hash value for the files.
