I remember demos back in the day (*cough* early 1980s *cough*) but assumed they had gone the route of Gopher what with the advanced graphics available with contemporary computers.
Not so, apparently. Demoscene.tv is one venue trying to showcase and keep alive demoscene culture, being a sort of Youtube for demos.
And people are apparently still writing demos to run on old hardware. There’s something beautiful about the fact that there are 21st century demos designed specifically for the Vic-20, like this one.
