GuestHi, friends! I’ve recently started thinking about switching to a standing desk and am considering several options. I was attracted to models from ProgressiveDesk, but I’m a little confused with the choice of frames. Do any of you use their desks? I understand that they have both single-motor and dual-motor models. What’s the fundamental difference? Is it worth overpaying for a dual-motor model, or is one motor enough for home use? I don’t have super-heavy equipment, but I still want the desk to be stable and durable enough. Share your experience, I’ll be grateful!

GuestI recently bought an electric standing desk frame from https://www.progressivedesk.com/collections/desk-frames and, to be honest, I thought for a long time whether it was worth overpaying. In principle, for regular work with a laptop, a couple of monitors and a keyboard, you can probably get by with one model. But still, if you plan to work standing and maximum stability is important to you, I would recommend a model with two motors. Let me explain why. The main difference between models with one and two motors is that models with two motors are much more stable, especially at high lifting levels. I was also afraid that the table would wobble when I raised it to the maximum height (especially considering that I have two monitors and a system unit on the table). But having chosen a model with two motors, I realized that this is a really important feature. The table rises smoothly, stably and, importantly, at any level. I tested it at the maximum height – there was no shaking or vibration. Another point is the smoothness of the movement. With two motors, the table rises much faster and with less effort, especially if the load is quite serious. I don’t know how it works with one motor, but in my model the movement is really flawless. In addition, the table does not make loud noises when rising and falling, which is important if you do not want to disturb others, for example, in the office.

GuestInteresting discussion! I’m about to buy a ProgressiveDesk desk, and to be honest, I’m not entirely sure which model to choose either. I think a single-motor model would be fine for home use and not very heavy equipment. But if you plan to use the desk at work with a lot of equipment or for long sessions, then you might want to consider a dual-motor model.
