GuestHi everyone! Today I came across news about a new startup — FitRoom. It’s an AI platform that offers “clothes replacement” for e-commerce. The idea is that customers can try on clothes virtually using their 3D model. This is cool, of course, but I don’t quite understand how it works in practice. After all, virtual fitting rooms already exist, but how exactly can artificial intelligence take into account, say, individual body features or different clothing styles? For example, I always run into the problem that some brands make clothes not according to size standards, and no virtual fitting room can accurately account for this. Has anyone used such services? Do they really work, or is it just beautiful marketing?

GuestI also recently learned about this service and was quite skeptical. Indeed, we have been seeing a lot of similar solutions lately, but not all of them live up to expectations. However, I decided to try Fit Room on one of the clothing websites, and I can say that the result surprised me. Unlike traditional virtual fitting rooms, which simply superimpose a picture of clothes on your photo or model, this service uses more complex algorithms based on artificial intelligence. In order to work with FitRoom, you need to upload your photo, and the system analyzes how a particular item of clothing will sit on your body, and then creates a 3D image. That is, instead of just an image, you see a real model that adjusts to your body type. Of course, everything is not perfect here. I, too, like you, often face a problem when clothes do not sit the way they promise on the website. For example, I have a rather non-standard figure, and often buying clothes according to the size chart turns out to be disappointing. But FitRoom tries to solve this: for example, they take into account different body types (we all know how difficult it is to find clothes if you are not a perfect “triangle” or “hourglass”), and also allow you to adjust parameters by size, arm and leg length, height, etc. What’s more, the AI ??can also assess how the material will behave in motion, how stretchy it is, and whether it is suitable for your lifestyle. So, although I would not call it a completely perfect solution, but for those who often face the problem of choosing a size, this can be a real lifesaver.

GuestYou described your experience in such detail that now I want to try it too. In fact, I am looking for something like this so as not to waste time returning clothes to the store. It is always annoying when you buy online and get the wrong size. It is interesting that the AI ??here, among other things, analyzes not only the size, but also the type of fabric. For example, I am always worried that if I order something made of synthetics, it will rub or will fit completely differently than on the model. It is nice that such services can really predict how the fabric will look, especially if it stretches a little.
