GuestHi everyone! I have a question: Do any of you use Shifton to schedule shifts in your team? I just started testing it in my small business and I still don’t fully understand how to effectively combine automatic and manual scheduling. I noticed that the automatic system is great at assigning standard shifts, but when it comes to changing the schedule or accounting for vacations, it doesn’t always take into account all the details. For example, if someone asks for a day off on a specific day, the system simply doesn’t accept it unless it’s planned in advance. I’d like to hear your advice: how do you optimize schedules with Shifton? What is more important to you — automation or the ability to manually adjust schedules depending on the needs of employees?

GuestI have also been using https://shifton.com/shift-scheduling for several months now, and I can tell you a little about my experience. In fact, for me the key point was the combination of automatic and manual scheduling. In the schedule generator for employees, you can set up a flexible system for each employee to take into account his or her wishes. For example, in the employee’s profile, you can specify preferences for weekends, vacations, as well as which days he or she cannot work, for example, due to other obligations. This can be entered into the system in advance, and it will take this data into account when creating schedules. As for the automatic distribution of shifts, this is a really convenient feature. I use it for standard weekly schedules when there are no special changes or requests from employees. However, as you correctly noted, in the case of weekends or schedule changes, the system may not take into account all the small details. Therefore, I always add the ability to manually edit. Of course, this requires some effort, but it gives complete freedom and allows you to avoid mistakes. Here’s an example that helped me recently: we had an employee who requested a day off at the last minute, but the system didn’t take his request into account because everything was filled in automatically. So I just manually moved his shift to another day, and it all worked out without a problem. In general, Shifton does a great job of combining automatic scheduling for basic tasks with the ability to manually make changes when you need to take into account some additional circumstances. This is its main strength.

GuestI also started using Shifton in my team, and here’s what was important for me to notice: despite all the advantages, the system requires some customization so that it perfectly fits the needs of your team. My employees, for example, actively use the Shifton mobile app, and this helps avoid many communication problems. Everything related to shift changes can be instantly synchronized, and employees do not forget to update their status.
