I had the same experience, I Compare PoE Extenders from EnableIT, and I can say that they generally met my expectations. But let’s go in order, so that it is clear what, how and why. In essence, PoE (Power over Ethernet) extenders are designed to transmit both data and power over a single cable, which greatly simplifies the connection of various devices – be it CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi access points or other devices that need power and data transmission. This is especially convenient if you do not want to lay additional power cables. Now, about the distances. Usually, the PoE standard assumes the transmission of data and power over distances of up to 100 meters (using a standard Cat5e or Cat6 cable). But in the case of extenders, for example, from EnableIT, this distance can be increased to 200 meters and even more. Of course, this depends on the quality of the cables and the conditions in which your network will operate. Extenders, as a rule, help stabilize the signal, increasing the distance without losing quality. I used these devices to extend a network at a site where we needed to extend the signal 150 meters to a security camera and the results were excellent.
