Curious what you all think—should Snapins.ai support downloads from private accounts if you’re following them? Technically you can view the content, so shouldn’t you be able to save it too?
Interesting question! If you’re already following a private account and can view the content, it does feel like you should be able to save it for personal use. But from a privacy and ethical standpoint, it’s a bit tricky. The user chose to make their content private, so downloading it—even if you’re a follower—might cross a line for some people. Personally, I think Snapins.ai does the right thing by not enabling private downloads. Better to stay on the safe side. Still, it’s an awesome tool to download instagram videos from public profiles!
I get both sides. Sometimes I want to save a friend’s Story before it expires, but yeah, consent matters. Maybe Snapins could do it with a prompt or watermark to prevent misuse?
