Hi everyone!!! I recently heard about Lee Child’s books and his character Jack Reacher. A lot of my friends have said it’s an awesome series, especially if you love thrillers. I’ve never read the Reacher books before, but I’ve heard there are a lot of them. What’s the best place to start? I want to dive into the story right away, but I don’t know if I should read in order or if I can start with any book. Can anyone recommend which book is the best place to start to get to know this character? And what makes the series appealing in general? Thank you!

That’s a great question. I’m a huge Jack Reacher fan and I can definitely say that the best place to start is with the first book, Killing Floor (1997). It introduces you to Reacher right away and sets the tone for the whole series. Although each book can be read separately, but if you want to dive into the hero’s world and character development, it’s better to follow the order. By the way, if you want to know more about the whole series, I recommend you to look here: https://booksrun.com/blog/jack-reacher-books-overview/ . There’s a handy overview of all the books in order, and you’ll definitely be able to choose something to your liking. Reacher is the perfect hero for those who love edgy plots involving mystery and justice. He’s a former military policeman with a unique approach to problem solving, and that’s what makes his stories so compelling.

Killing Floor is a great start! I started with this particular book myself and I haven’t regretted it. In it, you are immediately immersed in the atmosphere and understand who Jack Reacher is. And then you can move on down the list as you please. Personally, I liked Die Trying, which is the second book in the series. There’s a lot of suspense and a cool plot there too. As for the series itself, you can love it for the charismatic and independent hero who always seeks justice, even if you have to go against the system.
