I read 4-5 toy magazines each month and subscribe to the RSS feeds of pretty much every action figure/superhero toy website I can find. And yet, occasionally things slip past me until I see something in the store and think a) who the hell thought that would be a good idea, and b) I must have it.
This happened to me over the weekend when I found this on clearance at Wal-Mart,

Another item I could have gotten if I had went to SDCC . . . aargh. Funko apparently only made a few hundred of these, so E-Bay’s your best option now (which is where I got this image from someone selling it for a $30 Buy It Now price).

Rat Bat Spider
The excellent kaiju action figure site Omni-Monster has some excellent shots of a Rat Bat Spider figure. This is a monster that appeared in the 1959 film The Angry Red Planet. This is a fairly rare figure that usually goes > $200 on eBay. I’m very jealous right now.
