Personally, I’m never going to cook again without my Wonder Woman apron, but your mileage may vary (note, the Green Lantern apron does not protect against yellow mustard stains).

When I’m bored, I tend to surf the Instructables RSS feed as the stuff that shows up there is simply amazing, like this Kryptonite Candy. Visit the link for complete instructions on making your own. Then, just wait for an unsuspecting Superboy to show up at your house for Halloween, and see if you can succeed where Lex Luthor has always failed.
DC Direct Superman vs. Muhammad Ali Statue
OMG, this brings back memories. It was 1978 and I was ten years old when DC came out with this huge over-sized comic book depicting Superman vs. Muhammad Ali in the ring, all at the behest of aliens who wanted to determine Earth’s champion as part of an intergalactic match by an alien invading force.
I read the crap out of that comic over the next couple years. I would do anything to have this statute on my bookshelf…well, anything except pay the $250 asking price. What we really need is a Superman vs. Ali double pack of DC Universe Classics.
DC Direct’s Kingdom Come Superman in 1/6 Scale
In July, DC Direct will be releasing this nice looking 1/6th scale Kingdom Come version of Superman. I’m not a big Superman fan, but that looks hella nice. Moar Alex Ross plz.
Mattel’s Retro-Action DC Super Heroes
Beginning this month, Mattel begins releasing its series of Retro-Action DC Super Heroes based on the Mego line from the 1970s. These aren’t straight up copies of the Mego toys. For example, the initial Green Arrow toy available directly from Mattel on Dec. 15th is billed as a “a more accurate Green Arrow.”
Mattel currently has an initial three waves of four figures planned for sale at Toys R Us, with the initial set going on sale in early 2010 featuring Superman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Sinestro and Lex Luthor.
No word on whether they plan to also produce any of the vehicles such as the Green Arrow Car or the awesome Justice League playset.
Justice League Padlocks from Kryptonite
Somehow I’ve managed to avoid learning the existence of these Justice League of America padlocks until today. This is awesome.
Blackest Night Earth-2 Superman
Damn it is hard to find images of this Blackest Night Earth-2 Superman online. DC Direct initially embargoed the look of the character so most of what’s on the Internet (and still at DC Direct’s own site) is a silhouette version. This is a fairly grotuesque take on Superman even at this tiny resolution.
The S On the Chest
Fascinating mosaic at Flickr of different chest symbols from various Superman action figures. It’d be interesting to see a purely comics-based look at different variations on the famous “S”.
DC-Branded Hermit Crab Accessories
Saw this and various other DC-branded hermit crab accessories on clearance at the local supermarket. There were also separately packaged Batman hermit crab shells. Oy.
